The NSWFRA is pleased to announce the elevation of Jonathon Moore to the FIFA Futsal Referee Panel for 2018. Moore joins fellow NSWFRA Members and incumbent FIFA Futsal Referees, Ryan Shepheard, Darius Turner and Andrew Best on the 2018 list.
Moore began refereeing futsal in 2004 in South Australia. After moving to Sydney in 2006, he became a member of the NSWFRA and has continued to develop his refereeing skill on the Football NSW Futsal Premier League and subsequently the national futsal competition, The F-League.
Moore's performances at domestic level have been eye-catching. He has controlled four of the past seven NSWPL Men's Finals and has won FNSW Futsal Referee of the year twice in that time. Moore also managed the last two FFA Youth Futsal championship finals. Moore became the only non-FIFA referee to control an F-League men's final when he was paired with FIFA Futsal World Cup referee Chris Colley in 2015's showpiece.
Moore's consistency earned him a place in New Zealand to officiate the 2016 University Futsal Championship where he controlled the final. Last year, Moore was invited to Kuala Lumpur to attend the AFC New Futsal Referees Recruitment Seminar. This is the first step for a futsal referee identified for potential candidate for the AFC Futsal Referees panel.
"I'm looking forward to this next phase of my refereeing career, both gaining experience and learning new skills at international level, while continuing to work with the our Association's up and coming members to help them achieve their goals in refereeing," Mr Moore said.
The NSWFRA congratulates Jonathon on this well deserved recognition of his abilities and wishes him every success in the next stage of his refereeing journey
