The New South Wales Futsal Referees Association (NSWFRA) held its 15th Annual General Meeting on the evening of Friday 25 May at Bankstown Sports Club in Sydney's south west.
More than 40 members attended along with five life members and for the first time all of the NSWFRA's international representatives, the Association's four FIFA referees and two AFC Futsal Referee Instructors, were in attendance.
Scott Kidson and Peter Liaros were both re-elected for second terms as President and Treasurer respectively while outgoing Junior Vice President Salma Aly moved to the position of Floor Member. Anthony Mansor was elected as the Association's new Junior Vice President who represents the views of the membership under 25 years of age.
Addressing the meeting NSWFRA President and Director of Coaching Scott Kidson outlined the Association's plans for the 2018/19 season following a big changes by the Football NSW Futsal Competitions Review.
"The reduction of clubs at the representative level of futsal in NSW means there will be less places in the top tier and more incentive for our referees to step up and perform to a higher level," Mr Kidson said.
"I'm looking forward to the coming year and seeing which of our members rise to the challenge which will be put before them; to pursue their absolute best."
The NSWFRA will now look to its registration period which will commence in July of this year.
